The Acre

The Acre is a series of photographs telling a story of childhood and family. Generations of the Adams family have shared a plot of land, nicknamed The Acre. Each life walking through this acre of land represents a memory of those who have strolled under the pines before them.

The large format photographs within this series are moments recreated from personal memory, legacy, and observation. There are photograms in between each photograph of bits of nature and old relics found within the acre.

While this project operates as an extended self-portrait series, it also acts as a story of youthful wonder. The work is intended to convey to a time of question and discovery found in adolescence. There is a charm in youthful recollection, a time where questions of youth are informing the answers of adulthood.
