art and songs by Eric Adams
FREE RANGE TAKEOVER!
Back when I was teaching, I took a week off to hang out with Sofia, Bailey, Jack, and Andy while they were in town to record this record. Spending time with these artists inspired me, and was ultimately the final push for me to exit teaching. I can shed light on that decision later, but for now… what the heck. The Free Range crew are a group of people who care desperately about their neighbor AND the art they make. In between takes, I would listen to them talk in & out of inside jokes, and then become so gentle with one another - in celebration of each other’s talent. I wish we could all live in these moments.
When I heard the song Faith, I cried. I still do. There are many moments on this record where I find my eyes wellin’ up. When they asked me to sing on Faith, it was much like when Lindsey asked me to play and sing on the Honey Island record… a feeling of, “How did I get this lucky,” and “oh shit, can I do this forever?”
At its best, music can be this space where artists get together to share talent, jokes, secrets to the cosmos, and their love to paint.
Thank you Free Range.

Lately, I have been using YouTube as a way to write and keep creating.
